Andrea Palmarin

Originally from Pieris, born in 2003, he took to music from a very young age: at 6 he began studying the euphonium through the course offered at school by his hometown's band.

In 2022 he was admitted to the "J. Tomadini" Conservatory in Udine, under the guidance of Prof. Alessandro Ballarin, with whom he completed his first-level academic diploma in July 2025 with a score of 110/110 cum laude. Also since 2022 he has attended classes at the Italian Euphonium Academy taught by teacher and soloist Luciano De Luca. Since November 2025 he has been attending the second-level academic program at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.

He keeps constantly developing his skills by attending masterclasses with world-renowned musicians such as Steven Mead, David Childs, Mauro Martins, Glenn Van Looy, Massimo La Rosa, Lito Fontana, Simone Candotto, Rocco Rescigno, Zoltan Kiss, Øystein Baadsvik, Mario Barsotti and Gianluca Grosso.

Since 2018 he has been a member of the ANBIMA FVG regional youth band, with which he has performed across various parts of Italy, taking part in activities with conductors such as M. Somadossi, M. Mangani, L. Pusceddu, G. Pisano and J. Alcer Durán.

In 2020 he was selected to join the ANBIMA National Youth Symphonic Band as principal euphonium, under the direction of Maestros A. Cadario, S. Gatta, Leonardo Laserra Ingrosso and Antonio Barbagallo, performing at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Teatro Morlacchi in Perugia, the Nervi Festival in Genoa and the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.

Since 2023 he has been principal euphonium with the Orchestra di Fiati Val Isonzo (second prize in the top category at the Flicorno d'Oro). Also in 2023 he was selected for the EYBB (European Youth Brass Band) for the European Brass Band Championship in Malmö, Sweden, where he held the role of Principal Euphonium. From that same year he was selected for three consecutive years for the Music System Italy / World Brass Week project.

Since 2024 he has collaborated with the Italian Brass Band. In the same year he collaborated with the Italian Tuba Quartet, standing in for Giuseppe Mendola (principal trombone of the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice), and won first prize at the Città di Palmanova international competition.

In 2025 he was selected for the EYBB for the European Brass Band Championship in Stavanger, Norway, under the direction of Margaret Antrobus, where he held the role of first and second Baritone, becoming the first Italian to have played in this ensemble for more than a year. Also in 2025 he collaborated with the Italian Army Band and won first overall prize at the International Competition "Giovani Musicisti – Città di Treviso" with a score of 100/100.

Since 2025 he has been a K&G artist.
