Founded in 2016 in San Polo dei Cavalieri (Rome), the Italian Euphonium Academy is today one of the most authoritative reference points for euphonium study in Italy.

The institution was born from the vision of Maestro Luciano De Luca, an internationally renowned soloist, euphonium player with the Italian State Police Band, and Brand Ambassador for Buffet-Crampon and Denis Wick London. Thanks to his experience and his role as an official teacher for ANBIMA's national courses, Maestro De Luca has created a teaching environment unique of its kind.

The Academy's primary goal is the technical and artistic training of its students through an annual advanced training program. The institution currently has around 20 students, coming not only from all over Italy but also from the rest of Europe.

The teaching staff

To ensure constant, high-quality support, Maestro De Luca is joined by Samuele Traficante (assistant teacher), Fausto Bottoni, Giuliano Cerbarano and Domenico Cima (collaborators).

International masterclasses

The beating heart of the Academy's activity lies in its monthly individual and group lessons. What sets the Academy apart is its international outlook: exclusive masterclasses with the biggest names in the world of euphonium are organized every year. Over the years, students have had the privilege of studying with artists of the caliber of Steven Mead (United Kingdom), Mauro Martins (Portugal), Gary Curtin (Ireland), Matteo Caramaschi (Italy) and many other leading figures on the international brass scene.

Euphonium Ensemble

The Academy's teaching doesn't stop at the classroom walls. It promotes ensemble practice through its own Euphonium Ensemble, a group born within the school that has, over the years, taken to prestigious stages, giving students the opportunity to engage with an audience and to develop the skills needed for live performance.
